Esztergom

From Visegrád, we drove to Esztergom, where there is a large basilica.  (We were planning on going back later in our trip, but didn't make it back there, so we don't have any pictures of the basilica.  The basilica was built by Saint Stephen in around the year 1000, and in memory of him, there is a large statue of his coronation on the grounds.

Me and Sarah in front of the statue.

Once we were down walking around the basilica (we got there after it closed, so we couldn't go inside), we drove over the bridge to Slovakia.  Feri took us to this ice cream place that they had been to before, and we could see why he liked going back.  For one, the ice cream in Slovakia is cheaper than in Hungary.  Also, the guys here were incredibly entertaining.  They would toss the balls of ice cream up into the air and catch them with the ice cream scoops.  If you asked for a flavor that was in the other section, as soon as you asked for it, the guy over there would already have it scooped and flying in the air to the one serving you, who would catch it with his scoop or your cone.

Feri insisted that we get one with at least six scoops, and I think the guys there gave us even more than that.  We were getting different flavors, but being somewhat indecisive (as both of us are sometimes), we were asking what different flavors were, to which he would respond in Hungarian.  There was a blue ice cream that we asked about and without missing a beat, he told us that it was Viagra flavored - which got a laugh out of all of us (I don't even remember what the real flavor was).  As you can see from the pictures below, they turned our ice cream cone into quite the piece of art.  They put coffee beans on for the eyes of all the faces and when we asked for chocolate ice cream on top, the guy proclaimed that it was Barack Obama.  He then pointed inside the large cone at the bottom and said "George Bush."  I guess you can tell how foreigners view the different Presidents of the United States.

Us with our ice cream art, complete with Barack Obama and George Bush.
(Although George Bush isn't incredibly visible from the inside of the bottom cone.)
